Our Impact
An introduction from our Chair, Jackie Craissati and Tom Reddy, Chair of the Finance & Audit Committee:
In May we published our 2022 annual report and accounts. You can read the full report here or see a summary of the key highlights below.
In 2022 we achieved more than ever before. From increasing awareness and understanding of Crohn’s and Colitis, to continuing our commitment to world class research, to supporting and empowering people to manage their lives with IBD and of course our relentless campaigning for earlier diagnosis and high quality sustainable clinical care. What’s more, it was also another record-breaking year for income generation. This is an incredible achievement and it is thanks to all our members, donors and everyone who went above and beyond in support of the charity. The funds and awareness you raise are vital. Thank you!

I've called the helpline a few times to ask some questions and the support and kindness I received was brilliant. I'm very grateful for this charity and I would recommend anyone living with this disease to reach out to them or join any of the online or face to face support groups they make available.
With IBD being notoriously isolating, Crohn's and Colitis UK make you feel like you're not alone.

Crohn’s & Colitis UK has been a lifeline for me. The first initial stages of diagnosis and hearing that you have IBD are scary. Accessing a wealth of information and reassurance has massively helped settle my mind. Knowledge is power, and having everything at my fingertips has eased much anxiety through the initial stage.

I am currently a member because I really appreciate the support Crohn’s & Colitis UK give to people like me, who don’t think anyone else understands their situation and condition. You can feel incredibly lonely with IBD and having a community here really helps get you through it. The fundraisers they do are amazing and I’m looking to participate in the very near future.

I wouldn’t be where I am if it wasn’t for Crohn’s & Colitis UK. 2022 was a bad year. My mental health took a bad blow, and it caused a domino effect with the rest of me. But thanks to the website and especially the symptom checker it helped me really explain to my consultant what’s going on.
